World Refrigeration Day with REFCON-6 Technical Conference
Pune: The Pune Chapter of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) celebrated World Refrigeration Day by organizing REFTECH-6, a technical conference, at Hotel Tip Top International, Wakad.
The event was attended by ISHRAE Pune Chapter President Mr. Subhash Khanade, REFTECH Series Convener Mr. Mahesh More, former Presidents Mr. Deepak Wani and Mr. Virendra Borade, Mr. Chetan Thakur, Mr. Amit Gulawade, Dr. Kundan Kumar from Blue Star, Prof. Dr. Milind Rane from IIT Bombay, along with a large number of ISHRAE members and industry professionals.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Subhash Khanade highlighted the various initiatives and technical activities undertaken by the ISHRAE Pune Chapter. On the occasion, ISHRAE Founding President Mr. Arvind Surange, in a special message sent from the United States, conveyed his greetings and shared details about REFCOLD-2026, an international conference that will be hosted in Pune for the first time in November 2026.
Speaking on the theme of sustainable cooling technologies, Dr. Kundan Kumar emphasized that industrial heat pumps are highly energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions that can significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across industries.
Prof. Dr. Milind Rane explained that heat pump technology delivers higher heating and cooling output with lower electricity consumption, making it a key enabler of sustainable development and energy conservation.
