‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026’ Launched in Memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Pune, September 27, 2026: The South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Nagpur, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is organising the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026’ under the theme ‘Seva Hi Sanskriti’. The campaign aims to strengthen the spirit of service, cleanliness, patriotism and cultural awareness in society. The campaign is dedicated to the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

SCZCC, Nagpur Director Smt. Aastha Karlekar said that various cultural programmes are being organised across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka as part of the campaign. Rangoli-making and exhibitions, street plays and performances of the patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’ are among the major attractions of the campaign.

As part of the ‘Seva Hi Sanskriti’ programme, 16 students of Class 11 from Army Public School, Dehu Road, presented an impressive street play highlighting the values of Indian culture, cleanliness and service. The programme concluded with a rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’.

A special programme titled ‘Vande Mataram – Purvanchal Students’, based on the concept of ‘Seva Hi Sanskriti’, was also organised jointly by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur and Sanskar Bharati West Province. On the occasion, students from the Purvanchal region came together to present the complete ‘Vande Mataram’ in a powerful group performance.

A ‘Seva Hi Sanskriti Rangoli Exhibition’ was also organised during the programme. Rangolis created by art practitioners Sheetal Kamble, Asha Gabhale, Chhaya Gaikwad, Asawari Barve and Anita Rokade were displayed. Through their artistic creations, the exhibition conveyed messages of Indian culture, patriotism, service, cleanliness and social unity.

A street play was also presented to spread awareness about Indian culture, cleanliness and the spirit of service. Sanjay Chandgude, Leena Adhav, Mandar Phakatkar, Ganesh Adhav, Asawari Barve and Shobha Pawar participated in the play. It was directed by Vice-President Narendra Amale.

The programme conveyed the message that “Service is not merely an act, but an integral part of Indian culture.” The beautiful confluence of art, culture and the spirit of service received an enthusiastic response from those present.

On the occasion, Vaishali Tai Athlye and Rajendra Dada Kakade of the Tatya Bapat Committee, along with senior art practitioners Rohini Joshi and Sunita Junnar-kar, were present and encouraged the participating artists.

The programme was attended by Dr. Nandkishor Kapote, President, Sanskar Bharati West Province, Pimpri-Chinchwad Committee; Leena Adhav, Secretary; Prabhul Bhishnurkar and Narendra Amale, Vice-Presidents; Prachiti Bhishnurkar, Treasurer; Bhavana Samant, Stage Arts Coordinator; Sanjay Chandgude, Theatre Discipline Coordinator; Asawari Barve, Joint Secretary; Anita Rokade, Rangoli Discipline Head; Rati Deshmukh, Children’s Activities Head; Ganesh Adhav, Contact Head; Shobha Pawar, along with other committee office-bearers and a large number of art practitioners.
