Aga Khan Palace Illuminated in Golden Glow of Hope for Children Battling Cancer

PUNE | The iconic *Aga Khan Palace* was illuminated in a radiant golden glow as *Access Life Assistance Foundation* organised a heartfelt awareness programme to mark *Childhood Cancer Awareness Month*, bringing together cancer-affected children, their families, volunteers and citizens of Pune in a powerful display of hope, courage and solidarity.

The evening centered around a moving candle-lighting ceremony, where children undergoing cancer treatment and their parents held candles high, symbolising resilience and the collective promise that *no child should fight cancer alone*. The golden illumination transformed the historic monument into a beacon of hope, reminding the city that even in its darkest moments, compassion can become a guiding light.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about childhood cancer while highlighting the importance of continued emotional, social and practical support for children and families undergoing long-term treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, *Dr. Chandan , Centre Manager, Access Life Pune Centre*, said that Access Life is committed to ensuring that every underprivileged child fighting cancer receives not only medical support, but also dignity, care and hope throughout their journey.

Founded in *2014, Access Life Assistance Foundation supports children from urban, rural and remote parts of India who travel to cities for cancer treatment. Through its **14 centres across the country, the Foundation provides **free accommodation, nutritious meals, travel assistance, informal education, counselling and emotional support* to children and their caregivers.

The programme was attended by Mr Ankit Dave Mr Vishu and Mr Girish Nair Founders of Access Life Assistance Foundation and Dr. Chandan Dharmraj, Centre Manager, Access Life Pune Centre; Foundation representatives, staff members, cancer-affected children, their parents and well-wishers.

Colourful Blend of Music and Dance

The evening came alive with inspiring performances celebrating hope through music and culture. *Blend 69* delivered an energetic performance featuring American rock and roll, blues and reggae. The band comprised *Jay Nikam* (Drums), *Jim* (Vocals & Guitar), *Abhijit* (Keyboard) and *Piyush* (Bass), whose performance received an overwhelming response from the audience.

Adding a vibrant global touch, *Yudi Baba Dharmanand* from the Pune Drum Circle mesmerised the audience with a powerful *African djembe* performance. Traditional dances by African students to songs in different languages, along with spirited dance performances by the girl students of *St. Mira’s College* and Students of International Symbiosis College alongwith soulful singing by David made the evening a memorable celebration of unity, resilience and hope.
