GHRCEM, Pune organized National Level Project Competition 2026 with Pan-India Participation
Pune: The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering at GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Pune in association with the IETE Pune Center and IETE Professional Activity Center (PAC), inaugurated the National Level Project Competition 2026 in a hybrid mode, attracting widespread participation from across the country.
The competition witnessed an overwhelming response with over 180 project entries from various colleges in Pune and other states. Students from regions including Karnataka, Punjab, Telangana, and Hyderabad actively participated, with outstation teams presenting their innovative projects through virtual mode, making the event a truly national platform.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Surendra Oturkar, Manager, Digital Product, Comau India Pvt Ltd, Guest of Honour Gopaldas Davra, along with Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Vice President of IETE New Delhi & Campus Director, GHRCEM Pune, Dr. N. B. Hulle, In-Charge Director, GHRCEM, Pune, Dr. Amol Bhoi, Head of E&TC Department, Dr. Sarika Khope, Head – Innovation Center, and Dr. Sudhir Hate, among others.
Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Surendra Oturkar emphasized that projects should not be approached just from an academic perspective, students to focus on developing solutions that are useful, practical, and user-centric. Projects must meet three key criteria like cost-effectiveness, quality, and real-world applicability. participants should consider market needs, budget constraints, and implementation feasibility while designing their projects.
Guest of Honour Gopaldas Davra motivated students to focus on the commercial viability of their innovations and view such competitions as a stepping stone toward their professional careers.
Dr. R. D. Kharadkar said that many student projects from such platforms have been recognized at organizations like defence sectors and ISRO. IETE Pune Center in providing a strong platform for E&TC students to showcase their innovative ideas and technical skills. The National Level Project Competition 2026 stands as a significant initiative in promoting innovation, technical excellence, and industry oriented learning among engineering students, providing them with a valuable platform to transform ideas into impactful solutions.
The competition is being conducted in two rounds, featuring attractive prizes. The first round, hosted at GHRCEM Pune, includes prizes of 5,000, 3,000, and 2,000, while the second round, organized by IETE Pune Center, offers prizes of 10,000, 7,500, and 5,000 for the top three winners.
The event is supported by industry partners such as Wify Smart Home and Navotkarsha, adding industry relevance and exposure to the competition.
