Art Meets Technology: “ROOPAANTARAN” State-Level Art & Design Exhibition concluding at G H Raisoni International Skill Tech University, Pune
Pune: The School of Art, Music, Visualisation, Entertainment and Design (SAMVED) at G H Raisoni International Skill Tech University, Pune concluded its two-day State-Level Art and Design Exhibition titled ROOPAANTARAN at the SAMVED Art Gallery, Pune. The exhibition witnessed participation from national and international artists, making it a vibrant confluence of creativity, culture, and contemporary expression.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of eminent dignitaries including noted visual artist Narshima Murthy (Bengaluru), Ramesh Chavan, Head, Canvass Art Foundation, Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Vice Chancellor, GHRISTU Pune, Dr. Sanjay Bharti, Principal of Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Dada Chitradurga, International Artist (Karnataka), Dr. Vaibhav Hendre, Pro Vice Chancellor, GHRISTU Pune, and Dr. Avinash Kate, Dean, School of Fine Arts.
Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Bharti emphasized that technology and arts must progress together. He remarked that while Artificial Intelligence can support creative systems, it cannot replace originality and human imagination. “Art nurtures creativity and knowledge. AI is a supportive tool, not a substitute. Original ideas cannot be stolen, and our local languages and cultural roots must be preserved and promoted,” he stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Vice Chancellor, stated that the theme “Roopaantaran” signifies transformation through art an evolution of ideas, imagination, and expression. He emphasized that the exhibition aims to bring together students, emerging artists, art enthusiasts, and distinguished creators from across Maharashtra on one creative platform. He further remarked that while Artificial Intelligence is advancing rapidly in education and technology, fine arts will never be threatened by AI. Art has a unique emotional and human dimension that cannot be replicated. Live artistic expression is a powerful and irreplaceable experience, he said.
The event was further graced by distinguished personalities including Dr. Shailendra Srivastava, Actor, Poet, Writer and Motivational Speaker, Shri Sharad Tarade, Senior Artist, Shri Sachin Sawant, Actor, Poet, Writer and Retired Deputy Police Commissioner, and Dr. S. Saunand from IGNOU, Pune, who collectively appreciated the artistic excellence showcased during the exhibition.
Artists displayed a diverse range of paintings, sculptures, and design works reflecting innovation, tradition, and social themes. The exhibition provided a meaningful platform for emerging and established artists to present their work and engage with art enthusiasts, students, and academicians.
Earlier, Dr. Avinash Kate, Dean, School of Fine Arts, introduced the concept and vision of the exhibition, outlining its objective to create a dynamic platform for artistic exchange and innovation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sandip Raskar.
Mr. Sunil Raisoni, Chairman, Raisoni Education, Mr. Shreyas Raisoni, Executive Director, Raisoni Education, and Dr. R. D. Kharadkar, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Vaibhav Hendre, Pro Vice Chancellor, GHRISTU Pune, congratulated the Department of Fine Arts for organizing such a grand and meaningful artistic celebration.
